Presqu'ile

Presq'ilue is in between Brighton and Colborne, just off lake Ontario. It's open all year with just over 400 campsites. I recently went camping there with my family and friends. Presqu'ile has a nice long sandy beach near campsites 1-100. If you don't mind the rocks there is another beachy area over on the other end of the campground with a rocky shore and a fairly flat rocky surface under the water. I suggest that you bring a bike to Presqu'ile, there is a trail that almost takes you from one side to the other! As long as you are near the shore there aren't too many bugs compared to the marshy areas. Since this campground is just off Lake Ontario it isn't a good place to go canoe so don't worry about it and leave the canoe at home. Even though some reviews say that the privacy isn't the best, compared to other places this has very good privacy. One thing I noticed a lot was the  butterflies, there were tons of Monarch butterflies! As I mentioned before there weren't many bugs, the only  insect there was spiders. There weren't any skunks or raccoons that I saw either, but I did see red squirrels and chipmunks. One of the cool things to do at Presqu'ile is you can go see Ontario's 2nd oldest operating lighthouse and the original lighthouse keeper's cottage. If you want to go to Presqu'ile the most important thing I have to say would be you need more than a weekend, there isn't enough time to do everything. I would rate the beach 6/10, the campground 4/10 and overall a 5/10.

Kilarney

kilarney
Kilarny is a great place to camp if you have gone camping before. You can get a drive up site or you can go back country. I've been camping there before and it is BEAUTIFUL! At Kilarney you can fish, canoe, and there are 2 beaches for you to swim at. Also there are 4 different trails to hike on. I would rate this overall 9/10 and campgrounds are 9/10 as well. If you do decide that you wish to go then I suggest canoeing to turtle rock.

Port Bruce

Port Bruce
Port Bruce is more of a day park. You can't go camping there it's more of a beach area park. The sand at the beach is more rocky than it is fine. The water is wavy. Port Bruce is a great place to go for a day with your family, have a picnic, swim, fish or boat. I would rate the beach 4/10 not the best but not the worst either.

Port Burwell

Sunset at Port Burwell
Port Burwell is a park 26 km south of Tillsonburg on Lake Erie. Like Long Point we couldn't get to see the campgrounds without paying for a pass but it sounds like a smaller version of Long Point.

Long Point

The Beah
Long Point is located 40km South of  Tillsonburg. This Park has 254 campsites but I'm not sure what to think of it because you have to pay to get in even just to look around. The beach howeveris amazing, a long, sandy beach. The water is somewhat shallow but wavy. Unfourtunatly like Turkey Point it is crowed. The Beach I rate 8/10

Turkey point

Turkey point
In a little town called Turkey Point there is Turkey Point Provincial Park. Turkey Point is just West of Selkirk and just off the coast of Lake Erie. The campground is nice. Turkey Point is the only Provincial Park with a golf course. The privacy is good, you aren't practically sharing 1 site with 2 different  families. The beach is nice but it is often busy. For camping I give it a 5/10 and overall it's a 4/10.

SELKIRK

Selkirk campgrounds
Never stepped inside a tent before? Want to start camping? If you really want to go basic Selkirk is the place for you! Selkirk is a town just off Lake Erie and inside that town is none other then the Provincial Park.......SELKIRK! This is a good Provincial Park for beginners. As soon as you walk in you get the vibe that you are in a HUGE backyard. The beach isn't so great either though it looks nice but it smells. Overall I rate it 2/10 and the campgrounds 2/10 as well.
